While they were students at the École de technologie supérieure in Montréal, François Roy-Moisan, Gabriel Dupras and Jacques Poirier put together a lighting system designed for painting restoration. It could recreate the light of the period at which the piece was created so that the restoration was as close to the original coloring as possible, all the while protecting it from discoloration.
A family member thought of using it to grow produce in a controlled environment. No doubt about it, the many facets of culture played a preponderant role in the genesis of our company, which was officially founded in 2015!
A leading entrepreneur, Louis Brun took the reins of Sollum Technologies in 2016, convinced that the future of sustainable agriculture lighting technology resides in the groundbreaking advancements in yield and energy efficiency of a fully dynamic LED grow light solution able to modulate the full spectrum and intensity of the Sun's natural light.
Louis is a visionary with a proven track record, securing Sollum's $CA 30 million round of financing in 2023 and the successful exit of his previous startup, Neuralitic. Louis has an engineering degree from Laval University and is an alumnus of the MIT Entrepreneurship program.
Before Sollum, Paul-Henri has an impressive track record in investment, financing and management in the technology industry. He participated in the founding of the National Bank of Canada's Technology Group, where he contributed to the development of over 250 companies through round financing, mergers and acquisitions, strategic partnerships, international expansion and the implementation of strategies and organizational structures.
Before Sollum, Paul-Henri was CFO at several companies such as Kaloôm, a cloud-based networking software provider, and Fortem Solutions, specialized in 3D security management software, where he oversaw the international expansion. In 2004, he founded Phare Solutions, a consulting firm offering mentorship and guidance in business development as well as the implementation of business strategy and financing.
Yvan’s focus is to elevate Sollum's catalogue of dynamic LED grow lights to the next level. He is driven by the idea of contributing to more productive indoor farming in the context of climate change.
With 34 years of industry experience, he has developed expertise in the areas of product research and development, advanced lighting technology and business growth. Prior to joining Sollum, Yvan played an invaluable part in the economic expansion of a major LED lighting manufacturer by conceiving their product catalogue, supporting sales activities and client relationships, and negotiating strategic partnerships with suppliers.

We work closely with our clients, research centers and associations, leveraging data from our SUN as a Service® (SUNaaS®) cloud platform to fully understand how our solution benefits various organizations. Our goal is to continually enhance our solution to meet the evolving needs of end users.
Our solutionOur team of agronomists, horticultural specialists, engineers and technicians is there for you every step of the way. What do you want to grow in your greenhouse, where and when? Engage with our team and other experts to initiate the planning of your operation.
We'll propose a LED grow light plan complete with the right fixtures, SUN as a Service (SUNaaS) cloud platform management and 24/7 on site or remote support. We’ll finalize the plan, including schedule, installation, testing and training. And our SUNaaS platform will provide data and monitor your grow lights to ensure that everything runs smoothly.
The SF-Family smart LED grow lights are energy efficient. To support optimal plant health and growth, sensors in each monitor the ambient light levels received by plants. The readings are used by the SUNaaS platform to automatically dim
and adjust the light spectra in real time in order to maintain the scheduled light recipe.
Our truly dynamic and future-proof LED horticulture lighting solution can handle any light recipe. You benefit from cost-effective multi-crop management and crop rotation all from a single lighting fixture.
Our growing intellectual property portfolio features exclusive innovations in the form of 17 granted utility and design patents with more proprietary technology on the way.
Sollum’s proprietary SUN as a Service cloud platform (SUNaaS) provides groundbreaking greenhouse lighting
control features.
The LED grow light solution allows the dynamic spectra and PPF intensity to be controlled remotely and in real time from your PC or smartphone.
SUNaaS will consistently deliver the recipe’s right spectra, intensity and photoperiod, and the data to monitor your lighting’s health in real time 24/7.
